Maria Becerra – Veterinary Surgeon
I was born and grew up in the city of La Coruna in northern Spain – a proud Celtic and farming region, the area is known for its Las Gaitas (bagpipes), Rubia Gallega cattle, as well as the famous Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. Having always had a keen interest in science and medicine, in 2002 I completed my degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela. Having graduated, I worked in the university’s Veterinary Anatomy department focussing on conservation of the Rubia Gallega cattle breed. In 2005, I moved to the UK and have lived here ever since. I have over 13 years’ experience in small animal practice and when I am not at work, I can be found perusing the occasional art gallery, trying my hand at different water sports, or, most likely, taking my daughter to the local park.
