Rosie is one of the reassuring faces you’ll see at midnight when she welcomes your sick or injured pet at NVSE’s front door.  She started her veterinary nursing career with a degree but fell into critical care during a working trip to Australia, where she looked after Cats and Dogs as well as Possums, Echidnas, Kookaburras and of course the odd ‘Roo.

Rosie, loves her job for two main reasons.

Firstly because of the bond that is created with the pets she gets to care for.  Whilst our emergency care vets efficiently diagnose, direct treatment and move on to help their next patient, nurses like Rosie get to spend time with your pets.  According to Rosie, ‘I love building a connection with each patient.  There is nothing more rewarding than watching an unwell pet recover and then reuniting them with a relieved owner in the morning fitter, healthier and perkier than when they were dropped off.’

The second reason Rosie loves working at NVSE is because she’s very comfortable in the role she gets to play in making your pets better.  With over twelve-years-experience, Rosie will often know the care a sick or injured pet will need, just a few minutes after meeting them.  She’ll confirm that with our vets, of course, but then she’ll know exactly what treatment and care is required to help that animal.  Being confident in the positive effect that your knowledge and experience will have on a patient is an extremely rewarding place to be in a job like critical care veterinary nursing.

What do clients think of Rosie? Well, it’s fair to say they are generally extremely happy to see her as they pick their pets up.  They are also amazed at how fresh and chirpy she is after a long night shift as she explains next steps and hands a recovering patient back to its grateful owners.
