Digital pet X-ray facilities in Teddington

Because animals cannot describe how they are feeling to us, being able to see what’s going on inside them can be crucial to the correct diagnosis and treatment. At Alpha Vets in Teddington, our team uses digital pet x-rays for instant visuals of internal injuries and health problems.

How we use pet x-rays at Alpha Vets

As well as taking images of skeletal issues, x-rays are also used to examine various organs including the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys and small intestines for irregularities. These could include a foreign body lodged in the stomach or intestine, or the presence of fluid, a tumour, or disease.

Pet x-rays in Teddington are performed under light sedation, or general anaesthetic when appropriate. This is necessary to get a good quality digital image from a completely still patient. Our Vets will talk you through this during your consultation.

Digital x-rays can speed up referrals

One of the key advantages of using digital pet x-ray rather than the traditional kind, is the ability it gives our team to share x-ray data by email. This means our Vets can refer the x-rays, without necessarily referring your pet, which can help in gaining a much quicker diagnosis of ailments that require a specialist opinion.

A full suite of diagnostic equipment

As well as digital x-ray, our Vets have access to a wide range of diagnostic equipment including ultrasound, ECG, endoscopes and on-site laboratory facilities. Having these aids on-site helps to ensure swift and accurate diagnosis so that early treatment can commence.

Is your pet insured?

Help alleviate the financial stress of unexpected treatment with pet insurance. Digital x-rays and other diagnostic tools enable our Vets to diagnose and treat a wide range of injuries and illnesses quickly, which can be crucial to the recovery of your pet. For this reason, we strongly recommend taking out pet insurance to help you cover the cost of unplanned veterinary treatment.
