Molesey Vets’ 50th Anniversary – Giving Something Back

If you read our fourth post last week talking about Darren Partridge himself, you’ll know that we’re running a blog series to mark this momentous occasion.
So, here is Part 5, all about the how MVC are keen to give something back.
Here at MVC we actively support the importance of protecting nature, the environment and our climate.
We are corporate sponsors of Surrey Wildlife Trust, one of forty-six wildlife trusts covering Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Alderney. The Trusts are a grassroots movement that share our belief that we need nature and it needs us.
We are also members of the British Bee Veterinary Society (BBVA), which was launched in 2015 in response to an increased demand for bee expertise from the veterinary profession. Put simply, we cannot live without bees. In the UK alone, around 70 crops depend on or benefit from bee pollination, but they play a much greater role in propping up the whole global ecosystem.
As a Bee-Friendly Practice we created a bee-friendly garden plot last year, next to our pond here at Molesey Veterinary Centre.
In addition to our involvement in supporting these very important organisations, we believe that giving something back to our local community helps bring people together, fostering stronger community relations.
We sponsor Molesey Juniors Football Club, East Molesey Cricket Club and the local Abel Karate Martial Arts Club. We support local animal rescue charities and regularly sponsor staff and individuals who are taking part in animal welfare, wildlife and ecological fundraising activities.
We also encourage aspiring veterinary students, from both schools and universities, to visit our centre to experience first-hand the many departments and services offered by a busy practice. These young people essentially represent the future of veterinary care and we want to help support their journey.
