Molesey Vets’ 50th Anniversary – Moving Forward

June 30, 2023

If you read our seventh post last week talking about what our clients think about us you’ll know that we’re running a blog series to mark this momentous occasion.

So, here is Part 8, all about Moving Forward.

For the past seven weeks we’ve taken you on a journey down Memory Lane, reflecting on the past 50 years of Molesey Veterinary Centre. It’s now time to look to the future as our anniversary blog campaign draws to a close.

In this, our 50th anniversary year, we have vastly expanded our exotics facilities with the setting up of our dedicated Exotic Suite. This new facility offers sophisticated climate control options for a wide range of Vivaria and Aquaria, all within the one space. We can now hospitalise and monitor your exotic pets intensively and more effectively than ever before. Many non-mammalian species often need long periods of hospitalisation to recover from problems. Most practices do not have the capacity for this but now MVC does!

We have also created a physiotherapy suite for our fantastic physiotherapist and registered veterinary nurse Sam. Going forward we can enhance the recovery of your pets from operations and greatly improve their quality of life by focussing on their mobility.

Later this year we will be adding an additional consultation suite to the practice to meet the increasing demand for our face-to-face consultations. We never rush consultations, and this new suite will provide the space to ensure we can provide our more nervous ‘patients’ with a quiet and safe space to meet us.

Our investment in technology continues to increase, with a new array of laboratory testing equipment currently being installed.  This will allow us to do tests within minutes, rather than having to use external labs with a delay of days. Our treatment decisions will become even faster than before!

In our Week 5 anniversary blog we were proud to let you know how we have worked hard to foster strong community relations, driven by our commitment to ‘giving something back’.

This coming year we have greatly increased our sponsorship of Molesey Juniors Football Club, and we now sponsor five teams as well as contributing to the drive for a new clubhouse. MJFC gives so much enjoyment to local children and youths as well as to their many supporters, and we are proud to support this wonderful local club.

Finally, environmental issues are very important to us, and we are currently reworking our outside space. Many of our clients will know this includes a very active pond but we are now adding new features, which includes specially chosen plants and flowers and invertebrate shelters. There has been a catastrophic 65% decline in flying insects in Southern England since 2004 and our garden will, in a small way, help to reverse this – whilst demonstrating to visitors what we can all do to help. As we always say, no animal is too small for Molesey Vets!

We hope you have enjoyed reading our anniversary blog features. Here’s to the next decade at Molesey Veterinary Centre…

“We will always be here. We will never sell out. We will always be THE vets for Molesey. Here for you and your pets, 24-hours a day” – Darren Partridge
