Vet consultations at Molesey Vets

Many pet diseases can be subtle or go unnoticed in the early stages. That’s why we recommend an annual check-up, during which our vet will look for potential issues and offer advice to keep your pet healthy.

To book a vet consultation in Molesey, call us on 0208 979 1384, email us, visit us in person, or request a non-urgent appointment online.

Types of vet consultations in Molesey we offer

Our Commitment to Your Pet’s Care

Our standard vet consultation is 15 minutes, giving our vet time to examine your pet and discuss any concerns. If it runs over, we won’t charge extra. Learn about our consulting rooms.

If your pet needs further treatment or procedures, we’ll provide an estimate of costs and will always do our very best to keep you fully informed of ongoing costs, however, with medical conditions and investigations it can be hard to accurately predict exactly what will be required at the outset. We can consider direct claims with pet insurance for invoices over £500 in most cases.

For emergency pet health problems, our emergency vets in Surrey are here 24/7 – learn more

This 15-minute consultation is for pets with a new health issue, a recurring problem, or a recheck of an ongoing condition.

If your pet has seen another vet for this issue in the past year and you would like our opinion on the problem, we’ll need to review their medical records, test results, and any x-rays. This helps us understand previous treatments and findings, allowing us to give an informed second opinion. Arranging this takes time, so please book at least a day in advance. Due to the complexity, these 30-minute consultations come with a higher fee.

If you visit without an appointment, we’ll do our best to fit you in, but you may need to wait if our vets are busy. In emergencies, we’ll assess your pet and may admit them while arranging for a vet to be available. Walk-in consultations are typically 15 minutes long and have a higher fee than regular consultations. We recommend booking in advance to avoid long waits and minimise stress for you and your pet.

A referral consultation is when another vet sends you to us for our expertise with your pet or their specific condition. They’ll provide us with a referral letter and your pet’s medical records. After the consultation, we’ll update your vet on the outcome. Referral consultations are 30 minutes long.

Our experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses handle some of your pet’s preventative and post-op care, such as nail clips, post-op checks, and pet advice clinics. Speak to our friendly team about available nurse appointments for your pet.

We offer free new puppy and kitten consultations with a vet to ensure your new family member is fully checked over. We’ll provide all the advice and information you need, so bring your little one in, and let us help them get the best possible start!

After booking an appointment

Please ensure that whoever is bringing in your pet knows:

  • How long your pet has been unwell and their symptoms.
  • What brand of food, supplements, or snacks they eat.
  • Any medications previously taken – bring packaging if possible.
  • Where your pet is from and what other animals they’ve been in contact with.
  • What your pet’s urine and faeces looked like before and now.
  • Whether the owner or decision-maker can be reached by phone if not present.

Consent forms must be signed by someone over 18, including those for admitting your pet for treatment.

Payment is required immediately after a consultation. If your pet needs to be admitted for treatment, you will be required to pay a deposit. For your convenience, we accept cash, cheque, debit, and credit cards.
