Your pet’s vital signs and comfort will be watched closely by our fully qualified Nurses (RVNs) throughout their procedure, and we have an extensive range of medication on-site should any be needed.
Our nearby 24-hour emergency & critical care facility also has a dedicated ICU (Intensive Care Unit) facility and an overnight care team for patients needing overnight monitoring and care.
General anaesthetics
Some of our clients have expressed concerns about the safety of general anaesthesia, which is completely understandable. For our standard anaesthetic agent, we use propofol, which is generally employed in human surgery, as well as isoflurane, a modern, safe anaesthetic gas. When under general anaesthetic, your pet’s wellbeing is always our top priority.
A fully qualified Veterinary Anaesthetist oversees the anaesthetic at all times, and we use a Burtons full-function multi-parameter electronic monitor: this monitors all of the patient’s physiological functions, from their core body temperature, breathing rate and blood pressure, to oxygen saturation and carbon dioxide concentration of the blood and ECG.
We’re committed to offering the absolute best for your pet. As well as devoting our full time to their health, we invest heavily in our equipment, and staff training. We always acquire the most up-to-date equipment to improve our facilities, and our staff training is rigorous and constantly updated, all to give your pet the treatment they deserve.
